Falco Tech: Shooting for New Heights in 2024

A crowd favorite and staple of the Falco Tech team is their T-shirt cannon, which they bring to various events. At the Jen + Tonic Polo Event, the team's presence and their exciting T-shirt launches have become a beloved tradition. We look forward to seeing their T-shirt cannon again at this year’s Jen + Tonic Polo Event (event information)

Falco Tech FIRST Robotics Competition team 3193 has had an incredible 2024 season, including a strong finish at the FIRST Robotics World Championships

The Falco Tech team showcased their skills, determination, and team spirit across multiple events. Let's dive into their recent successes and the impact they're making in the world of scholastic robotics.

    • Finger Lakes Regional (Rochester, NY): Finished 9th out of 54 teams

    • Miami Valley Regional (Cincinnati, OH): Finalists (second place) and earned an invitation to World Championship

    • World Championship (Houston, TX): Finished 44th out of 74 teams

  • Beyond Competition: Falco Tech's impact extends far beyond their own team. They actively mentor:

    • 4 FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams

    • 4 FIRST LEGO League Discover teams These programs engage students from kindergarten to 7th grade, nurturing the next generation of STEM enthusiasts.

  • Off-Season Events: The team's dedication continues beyond the official season. They continue to hone their skills at various off-season events: Ohio State Championship, Mahoning Valley Robotics Competition, Curiosity Open at the Great Lakes Science Center, and the CORI Invitational (Columbus)

  • Community Engagement: Falco Tech believes in giving back to their community. They participate in various outreach events, including: Shooting t-shirts at Youngstown Phantoms Hockey games, Austintown Fireworks celebrations, Independence Day Parade and Of course the Jen + Tonic Polo Event

A Mentor of Mentors

A key figure in Falco Tech's success is mentor Andy Yantes. As a FIRST Senior Mentor for Ohio, Andy plays a crucial role in expanding robotics programs across the state. His contributions include helping organizations start new teams and programs and supporting robotics events statewide (including the first-ever Robotics event in East Palestine School District history)

Andy's impact extends beyond FIRST Robotics. He's also an ambassador for the Jen + Tonic Polo Event, bridging the worlds of robotics and non-traditional events to create unique opportunities for student engagement and community building.
